A 2018 Jeep being driven by the teen - whose name has not been released - was driving in Uniondale east on the Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Cunningham Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, April 15, when it struck the trailer, which was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
According to police, as a result of the crash, the teen suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition on Friday morning.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
